Hi, I'm Ashley Siegele (Alex's sister), writing this on behalf of Alex and Jack Kenzler and their precious dog, Cosmo.
Cosmo is almost 3 years old. He’s their sweet boy, playful, and full of life. He’s the kind of dog that makes your whole day better just by being near you. They call him Mr. Mouse because he loves to cuddle so much; he seems to think he's tiny.
Since September, Cosmo has been suffering from seizures. They’ve been getting worse, and this week Alex and Jack had to rush him to the ER multiple times. They were able to stop his seizures with emergency medication—but the truth is, he’s at a breaking point.
The ER vets told them he needs to be hospitalized for 48 hours immediately. He needs IV seizure medication to calm his brain and stop this seizure spiral. Without it, the seizures will keep coming, and they’ll get worse. There’s no option to wait.
They took Cosmo to a neurologist who recommends they start him on stronger medications that cost $190/month, but if those don’t work, the next step is an MRI ($4-5K)—and more treatment they're not sure how they will afford.
We all love Cosmo more than words can say. He’s family. He’s been there through so many moments—quiet nights, joyful mornings, all the little things that make a house feel like home.
Right now, he needs us more than ever. And they need help. The cost of this horrific week they've had is nearing the $10,000 range.
If you can give anything, it would mean the world. Every dollar goes toward giving Cosmo a real chance. If you can’t donate, please share. Please send love. Please keep him in your heart.
Thank you—for caring, for reading, and for giving Cosmo (Mr. Mouse), Alex and Jack hope.
